What stays in your browser

Lists, keywords, styles and preferences are stored in IndexedDB and Chrome local storage. Page text is processed locally for highlighting and match counts. It is not sent to the publisher. Current page URLs, counts and per-tab controls are held in Chrome session storage; there is no browsing-history database.

When you enable editable-field matching, field values are examined locally to draw an outline. Password fields are excluded. The context-menu command temporarily keeps selected text in session storage until you add it to a draft list.

Optional sources, actions and sync

You may configure an HTTPS TXT, CSV or JSON source. TermGlow fetches it as data with validation, a 20 MiB response limit, no cookies and no referrer. Remote hosts receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address. Downloaded data is never executed.

If you configure a click-action URL and invoke it with Alt+click, the encoded matching term is inserted into that URL. Your chosen destination receives the URL and its query parameters through normal browser navigation. These destinations are not TermGlow servers.

Chrome Sync is an explicitly uploaded or downloaded snapshot of selected lists, subject to Chrome storage quotas. It does not automatically synchronize edits. Optional notifications, remote-source access and downloads require separate permissions when enabled.

Use and sharing

Data is used only for highlighting, lists, import/export, navigation, optional sync, backups and your configured sources. TermGlow does not sell data, use it for advertising, or provide page text to the publisher or other people.

TermGlow follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is used for the disclosed features, not for profiling, creditworthiness decisions, advertising or unrelated analytics.

Retention and deletion

You can edit or delete lists, clear Sync snapshots and reset local data in the extension. Browser storage retains data until you remove it or clear/uninstall the extension according to Chrome's storage behavior. Downloaded backups remain under your control in your file system.

This website

This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM. Technical server data may be processed for secure and reliable operation.

The static website includes no analytics, advertising scripts or third-party fonts. Contacting the publisher sends the information you choose to include to that contact provider.

Security and limitations

Remote sources use HTTPS. Browser storage is protected by the browser and operating system; TermGlow adds no separate at-rest encryption. Protect your browser profile and exported backups. Chrome internal pages, its PDF viewer, canvas text and closed Shadow DOM are outside normal highlighting capability.
